Parental involvement is key to student success. Imagine Kissimmee Charter Academy developed the Parent Involvement Plan to describe how we involve parents in the development of policy, activities, and notification of re-sources to make sure parents of all students can participate in their education. This plan is developed with the assistance and approval of the parents of our students ,as well as teachers, community members, and central office personnel.
Additional Information
Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 as amended by the Improving America’s Schools Act of 1994 provides supplemental educational services for eligible public and private school students to assist those children in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to meet challenging student performance standards. Federal legislation has provided guidelines for the selection of schools, for the selection of students, and for parental involvement.
School Selection
Schools are ranked annually by determining the percentage of the students receiving free and reduced lunch and are given priority on the basis of the percentage of students from low income families. Title I funds may then be used to upgrade the entire school’s instructional program.
